Add FactIQ to Claude

Works in Claude web, desktop, and Cowork·Full plugin requires a paid Claude plan — Claude Free can use the connector-only setup below·FactIQ is free to start

Set up

Claude web and the Chat tab in Claude Desktop use the same plugin flow.

    Open Plugins

    In Claude, open Customize in the left sidebar, choose Plugins, then click the plus button in Personal plugins.

    Add the FactIQ marketplace

    Select Add marketplace, then Add from a repository, and paste the repository:

    defog-ai/factiq-plugin

    Install FactIQ

    Open the new factiq marketplace, select the FactIQ plugin, and click Install.

    Authorize and start a new chat

    Click Connect when Claude prompts you, complete the FactIQ sign-in, then start a new chat.

On Claude Free: connector only

Free accounts can add one custom connector. This exposes the data tools without the plugin’s bundled analysis skill.

    Add a custom connector

    In Customize → Connectors, choose Add custom connector, name it FactIQ, and use this URL:

    https://api.factiq.com/mcp

Try it

Ask an economic or financial question normally — Claude selects the FactIQ skill automatically. Type /factiq to choose it explicitly.

  • What's the US unemployment rate, charted over the last 10 years?
  • Compare US and China CPI inflation year-over-year for the last five years.
  • Plot the US 10-year Treasury yield, monthly, since 2020.

Troubleshooting

No Plugins tab
Plugins require a paid plan. On Team and Enterprise, ask an owner whether Skills, Cowork, or marketplace access is restricted.
Marketplace does not appear
Confirm the repository is exactly defog-ai/factiq-plugin. Organization policy can block personal marketplaces.
OAuth gets stuck
Sign in to FactIQ in the same browser, then re-run Connect. You can also remove and re-add the connector from Claude settings.
Tools missing in chat
Start a fresh conversation after installation. Type /factiq to select FactIQ explicitly, or open Connectors in the composer and confirm FactIQ is enabled.
Claude Code is separate
Plugins installed in Claude don't appear in Claude Code — it has its own install path. See the Claude Code guide.
