Great Britain road traffic counts and annual average daily flows (Department for Transport)

Department for Transport road traffic statistics for Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales; Northern Ireland is not covered), loaded from the DfT bulk download files. Three kinds of series: annual average daily flows (vehicles per average day) for about 47,000 traffic count points on major and minor roads, in total and by direction, for each of 13 vehicle types (pedal cycles, motorcycles, cars and taxis, buses and coaches, light goods vehicles, heavy goods vehicles by axle class and all motor vehicles), 1993 onward; the raw one-hour manual counts behind those estimates (vehicles per hour, dated at the count hour, so the observations are irregular), 2000 onward; and annual traffic in vehicle miles by region, local authority, road type and vehicle type. Every count-point series carries the road name and category (motorway, trunk or principal A road, B road, C or unclassified road), local authority, region, latitude, longitude, link length and whether the flow was counted or estimated. About 3.3 million series; loaded once by hand and not refreshed by the scheduled UK run.

In SQL, this dataset is the rows of uk.series with dataset_code = 'dft_road_traffic'.
