SEC Forward-Looking Guidance

Management's FORWARD-LOOKING GUIDANCE extracted from the narrative text of SEC filings — the MD&A of 10-K/10-Q/20-F filings and 6-K/8-K earnings releases — NOT reported actuals. These are management's own targets/expectations for a FUTURE period (next quarter or full year): revenue, EPS, operating/net income, gross & operating margin, capex, free cash flow, effective tax rate, and revenue-growth outlooks. CRITICAL semantics: each series_id contains '_guidance_' and the TARGET period (e.g. NVDA_revenue_guidance_fy2026_low_quarterly), and the data-point time is the ISSUANCE (filing) date — so a series shows how the outlook for one target period was revised across successive filings. Ranges are stored as separate '_low' and '_high' series (a point estimate sets both equal). USD figures are in raw dollars (comparable to the XBRL actuals in sec_10k/sec_10q); margins/tax/growth are percent. Filter on the series_kind=guidance dimension to separate these targets from actuals; join on target_fiscal_year/target_fiscal_period to compare a guide against the realized number. Coverage is sparse — only filings that disclosed concrete numeric guidance appear.

In SQL, this dataset is the rows of sec.series with dataset_code = 'sec_guidance'.
