India telecom subscribers by service provider and telecom circle (TRAI)

Monthly telecom subscriber numbers of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), as printed in the annex tables of its monthly press release Telecom Subscription Data, May 2009 to August 2026 (dated the first of the month; each value is the subscriber count at the end of that month, in persons/connections as printed, unit Number). Tables: wireless (mobile) subscribers from May 2009, wireline subscribers from November 2009, 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) subscribers from January 2025 and UBR fixed wireless access subscribers from August 2025; each by service provider (Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea, BSNL, MTNL and the providers that have left the market, plus the all-provider total) and by TRAI's 22 licensed telecom circles plus the all-India total; the rural row of each table is a separate series (all-India only). Each release prints the month and the month before; each month holds the newest release's value. Cells printed blank or '-' give no row. Not read: broadband subscribers, the top-five broadband providers, and the quarterly Performance Indicator Reports (PDF only). Missing months: August and September 2020 (scanned releases), September 2025 wireless, and a few 2010-2011 months whose tables cannot be read. Series ids mospi-trai:<table>:<provider>:<circle> (all wireless subscribers in India: mospi-trai:wireless:all:all_india; Reliance Jio 5G FWA: mospi-trai:fwa_5g:reliance_jio:all_india; filter dimensions by table, service_provider or service_area).
