Health systems across five pillars (WHO GHED/GHO, Eurostat, WHO GHE)

Cross-country health-system indicators organized into five pillars, tagged via a health_system_pillar dimension: financing_spending (WHO GHED health-spending shares — out-of-pocket, government, private, external, primary care — plus the share of households spending over 40% of their capacity to pay on health, broken down by wealth quintile), infrastructure_capacity (hospital beds and medical doctors per 10,000 people), access_coverage (UHC service coverage index, effective cataract surgical coverage), utilisation_efficiency (Eurostat hospital discharges, average length of stay, bed occupancy, cataract procedure rates, doctor consultations per inhabitant; WHO mental hospital admissions), and health_status_outcomes (life expectancy, HALE, and GHE 2000–2021 DALY/YLL/YLD burden of disease by age, sex, and cause). Annual series with ISO-3 geography and subgroup dimensions (sex, age_group, cause, wealth_quintile). This schema deepens the WHO GHO with financing shares, Eurostat utilisation, and GHE burden of disease; the overlapping headline measures (life expectancy, hospital beds, UHC service-coverage index) are shared with who_gho. For a broader library of WHO indicators (immunization, mortality, risk factors) use who_gho, and for detailed US-only dollar spending accounts use cms_nhe.

In SQL, this dataset is the rows of health_systems.series with dataset_code = 'health_systems'.
