CPS ASEC: Household Income, Poverty, Health Insurance and Occupation Wages (Computed by FactIQ)

US household income, poverty, health insurance and occupation wages from the CPS Annual Social and Economic Supplement

CLASSIFICATION-BREAK NOTICE — CPS ASEC series (cps_asec): occupation series carry the Census occupation code vintage in their id and each vintage is a SEPARATE series (occ1990_ for the 1992-2002 surveys, occ2000_ for 2003-2012, occ2010_ for 2013-2019, occ2018_ for 2020 onward; groups docc1990_/mocc1990_ through 2002 and docc2000_/mocc2000_ from 2003). The same numeric code can mean a different occupation in another vintage, so keep each vintage as its own labelled column on a shared time axis — never chain them into one continuous line. uninsured_rate_pre2019 (1995-2018 surveys) and uninsured_rate (2019+ surveys) measure health-insurance coverage under two different processing systems and are not comparable. Income measures are dated 1 January of the INCOME year (the year before the survey), survey-week labor measures 1 January of the SURVEY year; the 2014 survey (income year 2013) is the redesigned-questionnaire sample, so income year 2013 follows the redesigned definitions and has about 30 percent of the usual sample size.

In SQL, this dataset is the rows of census.series with dataset_code = 'cps_asec'.
