CBO Historical Budget Data

Annual federal-budget actuals by fiscal year back to 1962, from the Congressional Budget Office's Historical Budget Data. Covers total revenues (and revenue components by source), total outlays (by discretionary/mandatory/net-interest and by program), the deficit/surplus (total, on-budget, off-budget), and debt held by the public, each reported both in billions of dollars and as a percentage of GDP. The deficit/surplus series is negative for a deficit and positive for a surplus. These are realized historical figures, not forecasts. Series ids are historical_budget.<variable>.fy.
