Central bank policy rates for 49 economies (BIS)

Official central bank policy interest rates compiled by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS dataflow WS_CBPOL) for 49 economies, including the euro area, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, China, India, Brazil, and other advanced and emerging economies. Each economy has a monthly series (end of month, history from as early as 1945) and a daily series. Values are in percent per year, exactly as the BIS publishes them; where a central bank sets a target range, such as the US Federal Reserve, the BIS series is the mid-point of the range, not the effective market rate. Euro area members' national rates end when they joined the euro; use the euro area series (XM) after that. Dimensions: ref_area (two-letter BIS code), freq, and central_bank. Best for comparing policy rates across countries; for ECB facility rates see eu.ecb_rates, for the effective federal funds rate see frb, and for the RBI's own rate corridor see rbi.

In SQL, this dataset is the rows of bis.series with dataset_code = 'bis_cbpol'.
